I came up with this design a few years ago, when my late father gave me his old butcher block countertop. My goal was to make something that respected the wood's original condition. I made some rough sketches, and then I divided the countertop into four parts and made a chair out of it. I kept adjusting the angles until I got the design just right. Now, the chair looks great and is really comfortable to sit on, even without cushions.
